17 Brilliant Habits of Successful Women in Islam

Spread the love

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

A successful woman in Islam is a woman who can balance between her dunya and akhirah very well. She knows that all her actions on earth will be recounted on the day of judgment to determine whether she qualifies to be in Jannatul Firdaus.

Therefore, all the steps she takes are geared towards achieving the pleasure of Allah. She does not easily give in to her whimsy desires or petty hardships because she knows that her ultimate goal is akhirah and that this world is just a temporary place for her to prove her love for Allah.

  • Final word on the Successful Muslim Woman

1. Her goal is always the pleasure of Allah

There is a kind of man who gives his life away to please Allah, and Allah is most compassionate to His servants. (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:207)

A successful woman in Islam is laser-focused on doing actions that will only earn her the pleasure of Allah. She knows that this world is merely a temporary place for her to prove how much she loves her Creator.

At the end of the day, everything in this world will be destroyed and she will be buried in her grave with nothing but her sincere actions for Allah.

Therefore, her mindset is set towards the pleasure of Allah.

2. She takes hardship with a stride

Hardship is just a greater opportunity for the successful woman to prove herself to Allah. She almost sees this world as a game for her to collect as many ‘points’ or good deeds with Allah.

Not only is she patient, but she embodies ‘beautiful patience’ because she lives only to please her Creator.

So be patient with beautiful patience. (Surah Al-Ma’arij, 70:5)

3. She forgives others readily

A successful woman knows that forgiving others is the key for Allah to forgive her and bless her with His mercy as well. Therefore, she has no trouble forgiving others that have wronged her.

She does not take it to heart and never has a grudge on anyone.

… let them pardon and forgive. Do you not wish that Allah should forgive you? Allah is most forgiving and merciful. (Surah An-Nur, 24:22)

4. She cleans her heart daily

A successful woman knows that mankind is created peccable and that no matter how hard she tries, she will inevitably fall into sins daily whether knowingly or unknowingly.

Therefore, she constantly seeks repentance from Allah in her Salah on a daily basis. She does not let a day go by without Istighfar, Zikr and Quran recitations.

She is proactive in cleaning her heart.

Indeed, Allah loves those who are constantly repentant. (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:222)

5. She makes time for everything

Time is the number ONE resource that everyone will be held accountable for on the day of judgment.

A successful woman knows how to manage her time for herself, family and life goals. She does not spend her time idly without a purpose.

Her body and her family has a right over her, therefore she never lets her personal goals invade other people’s rights over her.

By time. Indeed, mankind is in loss. Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience. (Surah Al-Asr, 103:1-3)

6. She looks up to successful women in Islam

The women in Islam who have been promised Jannah are the people who inspire her the most. She knows that all her actions ultimately boils down to joining these remarkable women such as Khadijah RA, Asiah, Maryam AS – in Jannah insyaAllah.

She cares little about all the contemporary successful female figures that claim to have all the answers but don’t even know their Creator.

All her role models are the people of Jannah.

Prophet Muhammad SAW said,

“The best of women among the people of Paradise are Khadija bint Khuwaylid, Fatimah bint Muhammad, Maryam bint ‘Imran, and ‘Asiyah bint Muzahim, the wife of Pharaoh.” (Sahih Ahmad)

7. She has a beautiful character

A successful woman knows that her character is her personal branding. Wherever she goes, whoever she meets, people will remember her by her character.

How she makes others feel.

She is always vigilant in treating others with kindness and humble herself no matter how far she has come, especially with her family members.

Prophet Muhammad SAW said,

“Nothing is heavier on the believer’s Scale on the Day of Judgment than good character. For indeed Allah, Most High, is angered by the shameless obscene person.” (Sahih At-Tirmidhi)

8. She respects the men in her life (especially her husband)

Prophet Muhammad SAW said,

“Whichever woman dies while her husband is pleased with her, then she enters Paradise.” (Hassan At-Tirmidhi)

Islam taught us that if a woman dies while her husband is pleased with her, then she is entitled to Jannah. A successful woman has high respect for her husband because she knows he is her ticket to Jannah.

Asiah was promised Jannah while fulfilling her duties as a wife to the biggest tyrant in history, Pharaoh.

Husbands with normal faults and weaknesses do not deter the successful woman from continuing to give her best to her husband each day.

She only seeks her reward from Allah in the akhirah.

9. She is carefully articulate

Prophet Muhammad SAW said,

“O women! Give charity for I have seen that the majority of the dwellers of hellfire are of you (women). They asked “Why is it so, O Allah’s Messenger? He SAW replied, “You curse frequently and are ungrateful to your husbands”. (Sahih Bukhari)

Effective communication is an essential skill to have, but Prophet Muhammad SAW have warned us that many women have been thrown into hellfire just because of their careless tongue.

So although a successful woman is articulate, she chooses her words carefully and speaks only the truth when it is needed.

10. She is grateful

If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]. (Surah Ibrahim, 14:7)

Being grateful is the key to having more of anything in life. A successful woman shows her gratefulness to Allah and everyone in her life by giving her best back to everyone who has given her so much.

She gives thanks to Allah every day by performing her daily prayers well and conducting herself as a slave of Allah.

She gives thanks to everyone around her by repaying and giving more than what has been given to her.

She does not take anyone for granted and is always trying to give her best to others.

11. She does not compare negatively

“Beware of envy, for it devours good deeds just as fire devours wood or grass.” (Sahih Abi Dawud)

A successful woman is confident in herself and her abilities. She does not need others to validate or approve her in any way. She understands who she is, what she needs and what she wants.

Therefore, she has no desire to compare or be jealous of anyone.

Going after her goals and fulfilling her dreams while helping her loved ones reach theirs as well along the way is what matters most to her.

12. She loves herself

A successful woman has a good perception of herself. She never lets self-doubt or syaitan’s whispers haunt her.

She knows that Allah has made her perfect just the way she is and that is all that matters. She is determined to use everything that has been given to her to give back to the world as best she can.

She knows that everything she is – her body, her intellect, her physical senses – is ultimately not hers but is a temporary lending from Allah and will be given back to Him.

Therefore, she takes care of herself and loves herself just to please her Creator.

Yes, whoever fulfills his commitment and fears Allah – then indeed, Allah loves those who fear Him. (Surah Ali Imran, 3:76)

13. She is humble towards her parents

Allah says in the Quran,

Lower to them (your parents) the wing of humility out of mercy and say, “My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small.” (Surah Al-Isra, 17:24)

Parents are the most common people we take for granted. Just because they raise us and we are familiar with all their faults and weaknesses, it does not mean we can lower our respect for them and treat them harshly.

Allah says in the Quran,

Lower your wing of humility.

A successful woman knows that her parents’ pleasure is also the key to Allah’s pleasure. If they are not pleased with her, automatically Allah is not pleased with her as well.

Therefore, she treats them with utmost respect even in times of disagreement.

A successful woman knows how to win her parents’ hearts and never hurt them.

14. She has life goals

A successful woman is a woman with a purpose, whether it be becoming a great chef, mother, teacher, doctor, whatever it may be, she has goals for herself and she is not afraid to pursue them.

She believes in herself and that is one of her highest assets.

When she puts her mind to something, no one can tell her she can’t do it.

15. She is emotionally intelligent

A man said to the Prophet (ﷺ) , “Advise me! “The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Do not become angry and furious.” The man asked (the same) again and again, and the Prophet (ﷺ) said in each case, “Do not become angry and furious.” (Sahih Bukhari)

Handling her own emotions is one of the successful woman’s biggest expertise. She knows how to bring out the best in herself and others.

Rarely does anger ever have a grip on her. She is wise enough to handle any situation calmly and effectively.

A successful woman has the ability to speak to people’s hearts to inspire them, inviting others to better solutions in any situation, while never resorting to punishment.

16. She does not easily fall for the traps of dunya

Allah says in the Quran,

Bear in mind that the present life is just a game, a diversion, an attraction, a cause of boasting among you, of rivalry in wealth and children. (Surah Al-Hadid, 57:20)

A successful woman acknowledges that this world is full of decievement and traps. If she is not careful, her desires can easily allow her to be caught in these traps.

Traps such as the obsessive pursuit of wealth, beauty and happiness are rampant in today’s society and have become the norm.

Someone who does not pursue these luxuries is seen as rather odd in today’s modern life. A successful woman knows how to stay on the right path of Islam and balance out her dunya and akhirah.

While working hard to make the world a better place, she would never forsake her akhirah for the feeble pleasures of this dunya.

Therefore, she constantly strengthens her connection to Allah and seeks His protection.

17. She lives in moderation

“O people, fear Allah and be moderate in seeking a living, for no soul will die until it has received all its provision, even if it is slow in coming… ” (Sahih Ibn Majah)

Even if she has all the riches in the world, a successful woman would opt to live a life of moderation. She understands that everything she owns will be held accountable and that people have a right over her.

Simply put, her money does not entirely belong to her. She knows how to manage her money for charity, family, herself and other worthy causes.

Final word on the Successful Muslim Woman

Being a successful woman in Islam is a life mastery and everyone is on their own unique journey to this life mastery.

At the end of your life, would you like to be able to tell yourself that you have done your best for Allah and that you’re proud of yourself?

May we all be the most beloved slaves of Allah SWT. Ameen.

All the best.
