بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
We make duas for wealth all the time. In Islam, when you talk to Allah, it’s like having a heart-to-heart conversation with Him. This communication, called dua or supplication, is a way of expressing your deepest needs, desires, and feelings directly to Allah. One thing many of us ask for in these duas is wealth – having enough money and things to live comfortably and take care of our families.
Today, we’re going to talk about ten special duas for wealth that we Muslimahs can use when we want to ask Allah for wealth. These duas aren’t just about money; they’re also about feeling happy and blessed in our lives.
What Wealth Means in Islam
“And do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [some] categories of them (disbelievers), [its being but] the splendor of worldly life by which We test them. And the provision of your Lord is better and more enduring.” (Quran 20:131)
When we look at material wealth in Islam like that nice home, nice car, that wonderful vacation that we dream about every so often, those are actually tests from Allah.
Allah is trying to test us to see whether we would actually use the blessings or provisions that Allah has given us to get closer to Him or to go further away from Him, accumulating more wealth merely for the sake of enjoying this dunya.
That is why in the Quran verse above, Allah said ‘do not extend your eyes to the enjoyment that He has given to the disbelievers.’ They are merely tests. Allah knows that we often look to the disbelievers who are hustling and grinding for more wealth in this dunya. They seem more ‘successful’ and well established because of the wealth that they’ve accumulated. But in Allah’s eyes, they mean nothing.
Allah continues to say that ‘the provision of your Lord is better and more enduring’. The provision here refers to Allah’s promise to give us paradise where we will be eternally blissful. No more worries about paying bills at the end of each month, no more wishing for more money to buy that pretty dress, no more tears when our babies cry from hunger. We will get whatever our hearts’ desire for eternity!
Isn’t it worth it to work for Jannah in this lifetime?
So what is actual wealth in Islam? In Islam, wealth isn’t just about having lots of money. It’s also about feeling secure and having everything we need to live well. As a Muslim, it’s important to earn money in a good halal way, following Allah’s rules.
Making dua for wealth is okay in Islam, but it’s important to do it in the right way, with good intentions solely to seek Allah’s pleasure.
Why Duas Work?
“And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me – indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided.” (Quran 2:186)
When you make duas for wealth, remember that duas are like a direct line to Allah. Ask sincerely to Allah because He listens. There are stories in the Quran and sayings of the Prophet Muhammad that show how powerful duas can be, especially when we’re asking for wealth.
Allah said ‘When My servants ask you [O Muhammad] concerning Me – indeed I am near.’ Did you notice that Allah did not say ‘tell my servants that I am near’ instead He directly said ‘Indeed I am near.’ It’s as if Allah is saying, whether you ask me or not, by default I am always near you. SubhanAllah. He is always close to us. It is we who distance ourselves from Him.
Allah continues to say ‘let them respond to Me by obedience and believe in Me that they may be rightly guided.’ Since Allah listens to all our duas, as a token of appreciation, we should respond to Allah by being grateful servants of His, be obedient in following His commands and be guided by the Quran and Sunnah.

How Iman (faith) and Good Intentions Matter in Making Duas
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “Actions are judged by intentions, so each person will have what he intended.” (Sahih Bukhari)
Believing that Allah can help us and being sincere in our duas are super important. We have to trust that He’ll give us what’s best for us, even if it’s not exactly what we asked for.
Sometimes, we make dua for wealth to Allah and make requests as if we are the master and Allah is just our provider who has the obligation to provide for us wal iyazu billah (I seek refuge in Allah).
As servants of Allah, we should have this humility and humbleness before Allah when it comes to making dua. When we make a request to our Master, we don’t demand things and we don’t get upset when we don’t get what we want. Instead, we plead and plead with full humility, hoping that our Master is kind enough to grant us what we wish for.
But Allah s.w.t is unlike any master. He is the All-Merciful, All-Powerful and All-Wise. He knows what is best for us and He is merciful enough to grant us or prevent harm from us even when we ourselves don’t know what is good for us.
Therefore, we need to have faith in Allah. Trust that Allah knows what is best for us today, tomorrow and for our future. When we can fully trust Allah s.w.t with our lives, we would live in a sense of peace and calmness knowing that our fate is in Allah’s good hands bi iz nillah (by the permission of Allah).
So, no matter what you ask for, be it dua for wealth and dua for success in everything, always think good of Allah s.w.t and know that your duas will always be answered because that is Allah’s promise. 🙂
Is it okay to make your own duas?
While there are many established duas from the Quran and teachings of Prophet Muhammad s.a.w that are recommended for different situations, Islam also encourages you to make your own personal duas, using your own words, even duas for wealth.
Creating your own duas lets you speak to Allah in your own unique way, pouring out your heart to Him. It’s like writing a letter to your best friend, sharing everything that’s on your mind and in your heart. This practice helps you build a stronger connection with Allah and brings a deeper sense of sincerity to your worship.
But as you make your personal heartfelt duas, it’s important to remember a few key principles:
1. Stay True to Islamic Values: Your personal duas should align with the teachings and values of Islam. Avoid asking for anything that goes against Islamic principles or teachings.
2. Be Humble and Sincere: When you make your personal duas, do it with humility and sincerity. Recognize your reliance on Allah and trust in His wisdom and mercy to guide you.
3. Follow the Prophet’s s.a.w Example: It’s helpful to follow the example of Prophet Muhammad s.a.w in how he made supplications. This includes praising Allah, sending blessings upon the Prophet, and making your dua with full conviction and hope for acceptance.
4. Speak from the Heart: You can make your duas in Arabic, the language of worship in Islam, or in your own language if that’s more comfortable for you. Allah understands all languages, so what matters most is the sincerity and honesty of your words.
5. Stay Patient and Persistent: Remember to be patient and persistent in making your duas. Sometimes, the answer to your dua may take time or come in a different form than you expected. Trust in Allah’s wisdom and timing.
