12. Allah gives you hidayah (guidance) when you listen to the Quran
Guidance from Allah is a very special gift. Not everyone receives it.
That is why you can see some non-muslims who live in a Muslim community, surrounded by Muslim friends, yet are not open to accepting Islam as their faith because they have not received the Hidayah (guidance from Allah).
Allah gives His guidance to those He loves. Those who are sincere and open to receiving His guidance.
Umar R.A accepted Islam through listening to the Quran. At first He was angry at his sister for accepting Islam but when he heard the verse she recited from surah Ta-Ha, he immediately wept and accepted Islam.
This is the ayat she recited:
“Verily, I am Allah: there is no God but Me; so serve Me (only), and establish regular prayer for My remembrance (Quran 20:14).
Umar was a very hot-tempered and powerful man, but Allah’s hidayah can reach any heart that yearns for His mercy.
May Allah continue to give us all guidance in sha Allah. Without it we are nothing.
13. Allah gives you shyness (modesty)
“Shyness does not bring anything except good.” – [Bukhari & Muslim]
If you don’t have shyness, you would do anything as you please. You will not care what people think and you will not mind looking like a fool.
Sometimes – or most of the time – you won’t even realize that you look like a fool. Saying nonsense things without basis and acting foolishly as if you have no religion.
I’ve seen people like this and it saddens me because they see nothing wrong about themselves when it’s obvious to everyone else.
May Allah give us guidance.
When Allah loves you, He puts shyness or modesty in you for you to protect your dignity and carry yourself with honour because you are a Muslim.
A shy Muslim does not like showing-off or doing haram because he/she knows Allah is watching.
Their only intention is to please Allah, therefore seeking the acceptance of people seem foreign to them.
14. Allah softens your heart
“He who is deprived of tenderly feelings is in fact deprived of good.” – Sahih Muslim
A soft heart cannot stand the suffering of others whether people or animals, they would do anything to lessen the burden of others and restore peace.
Our Prophet Muhammad SAW used to seek forgiveness from Allah a hundred times or more just to soften his heart.
The opposite of a soft heart is a hardened heart. This heart is easily covered with ego, arrogance and hate.
When a heart gets hardened from accumulated sins, it will be hard to receive Allah’s guidance because it is not open to receiving it.
This is scary. Therefore, we must repent often and daily even when we have not done any apparent or intentional sins because we never know, the little unseen sins that we do every day may accumulate and cover our hearts.
May Allah forgive our sins and give us soft hearts. π
There’s a hadith that says:
“Allah will not be merciful to those who are not merciful to mankind.” – Sahih Bukhari
So if you want Allah’s mercy, be merciful to others.
Here are some ways to have a soft heart:
- Serve others more
- Seek Allah’s forgiveness through tawbah and istighfar often
- Play with children especially orphans
15. Allah makes you remember Him constantly
“The Messenger of Allah used to remember Allah in all circumstances.” – [ibn Majah]
When you remember Allah constantly, you would always be doing zikr, praising Him and making istighfar constantly because you are close to Him.
You would mention Him in your mind and through your actions all day because your heart is attached to Him.
When you remember Allah, it is a sign that Allah is remembering you as well. Allah’s love for you is always ahead of yours π
16. Allah makes you love doing good deeds and hate your bad deeds
βWhen your good deed pleases you and your evil deed grieves you, you are a believer.β – (Sahih Mishkat al-Masabih)
If your bad deeds don’t scare you, you will not feel the need to change them, repent and become a better person.
That is why some people say: “I can do all these sins when I’m young, when I get older, I’ll just repent before I die.”
This kind of attitude does not serve us because we don’t know when we are going to die.
Sure, the majority of us will live until old age but can you guarantee that you will NOT die tomorrow? π
Let’s say you are going to die tomorrow and you didn’t get the chance to repent all the sins you’ve done when you were younger, isn’t that a sign that Allah does not care about you?
So when Allah cares about you, He will make you grieve for your bad deeds and love your good deeds instead. π
17. Allah cleans your intention
Allah is just. He does not take sides. Whoever does good deeds sincerely for the pleasure of Allah, will get His reward.
Whoever does good deeds as a show off to win people’s praise, will not get Allah’s reward.
Which one do you choose? To win the hearts of people or the love of Allah?
If you find yourself naturally wanting to please Allah and doing good deeds without wanting people’s acknowledgment, it is a sign that Allah loves you and is acknowledging you. π Alhamdulillah
18. Allah appreciates your good deeds
Have you ever done deeds that are so small it seems as if it has no value or does not mean anything to Allah?
Maybe you helped your mum washed the dishes or throw the garbage out.
This hadith shows us how Allah appreciates all the small deeds we do for Him that might seem insignificant to us and everyone else but in fact, is priceless to Him.
When we appreciate what someone does, we automatically thank them for what they’ve done for us right?
Allah thanks you for the good deeds you’ve done no matter how small. And in return, He forgives our sins so that we can meet Him in the akhirah with a pure heart. InsyaAllah. π
19. Allah would love to meet you
βWhoever loves to meet Allah, Allah loves to meet him, and whoever hates to meet Allah, Allah hates to meet him.β – [Ibn Majah]
MasyaAllah. How do you feel about meeting Allah? Excited or worried?
We should have both feelings. We should be excited because we’re returning to the One who created us and loves us the most, our true home.
On the other hand, we should be worried because we don’t know if we have done our best enough to earn His Jannah.
Whatever it is, we should always have high hopes to meet Him in Jannah and make dua Allah accepts all our good deeds and are pleased with us.
If you find yourself yearning to meet Allah, it is a sign that Allah would love to meet you too. π
May we all meet our Creator in Jannah. In sha Allah. Ameen
20. Allah makes it easy for you to love others
“My love is assured for those who love each other for My sake” – [Ahmad]
Allah assures us that He loves those who love others for His sake. If you naturally love others for His sake, it is a sign that Allah loves you too. π
How do you love others for His sake?
The hadith goes on to say…
- you sit together for His sake
- you visit each other for His sake
- you spend (money) on each other for His sake
21. Allah gives you the sweetness of iman (faith)
Having sweetness of iman is a matter of the heart.
You have no doubt whatsoever that Allah is your only God, Islam is the only true religion and Prophet Muhammad SAW is His true messenger.
No matter what Allah SWT and His Prophet SAW commands, you would obey. And no matter what Islam prohibits, you would gladly leave it because you have surrendered your heart to Him.
There is another hadith that says:
If a person has these 3 qualities, he has found the sweetness of faith…
- Allah SWT and His Prophet SAW is more beloved to him than anything else
- Someone who loves others, and they love him too for Allah’s sake
- Someone who hates going back to disbelief after Allah has saved them from it because he hates to be thrown in the hellfire
But having said that, we must be smart as well. The right Islamic teachings is only from the Quran and authentic hadiths.
Following anything that deviates from that is not considered following Islam.
So we must be vigilant in learning our religion so that we don’t become ignorant Muslims but knowledgeable Muslims instead. π
22. Allah rewards you with Jannah in the akhirah (hereafter)
Whoever says: βI am pleased with Allah as my Rabb, and with Islam as my Deen, and with Muhammad (sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam) as my Prophet, Jannah would be mandatory for him.β – [Abu Dawud]
Jannah is like nothing we’ve ever seen or anything we can ever imagine. It is the best place ever to exist and it is our true home.
We all came from Jannah. We are just sent down to earth to be tested to see who truly deserves to reunite in Jannah… again.
In Jannah, there will not be any evil and no one will be deprived of anything.
Unlike dunya where we have so many rules and boundaries. In Jannah, we can have anything we want and do whatever we like. MasyaAllah! π
So, be patient, love. π You will get everything you want in Jannah when you continue to do your best in pleasing Allah and doing good deeds every day.
May Allah make us all be the chosen ones to reunite in Jannatul Firdaus (The highest heaven). In sya Allah. Ameen.
Final thoughts
Allah’s love for us is unlike any love we have ever received from anyone. He is the Al-Mighty that knows what is best for us and what is not.
The world can be a dangerous and cruel place if we don’t have Allah as our protector.
When He truly loves us, He will make us get closer to Him and closer to Jannah whether it is through hardship or ease.
Therefore, we must never lose faith in Him and continue to trust that He will give us what is best and good for us.
Any good from this article is from Allah and any evil is from the shaytaan and me. May Allah forgive our shortcomings in practicing His deen.
